Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School

Catholic Identity

GOAL I: To communicate an authentic Catholic Identity in all we do.

Objectives:

• To increase the participation of staff and students in parish activities.

• To create a true Catholic atmosphere throughout the school through words and actions of staff, students and parents.

• To provide opportunities for the spiritual development of staff, students and parents.

GOAL II: To provide a quality religious education program based on the Gospel values and the teaching mission of Jesus Christ.

Objectives:

• To research and purchase a new religious education series that meets the guidelines of the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese.

Academic Excellence

GOAL III: To provide a program of instruction rooted in the Catholic Faith, meets state and national standards and focuses on the needs of the whole child – spiritually, academically, physically and socially.

Objectives:

• To continue to develop and maintain programs to differentiate instruction throughout the curriculum

• To increase and improve classroom resources with respect to both personnel and materials.

• To implement the technology plan and technology systems to support the curriculum on a school-wide basis.

• To provide opportunities for students to participate in activities that contribute to the development of their social skills and service to others in the community.

• To continue to improve the talents and effectiveness of the administration, faculty and staff.

• To raise SAT-10 test scores at every grade level to at least the 50^th percentile on every test and subtest

• To provide opportunities for students and staff to increase their spirituality

GOAL IV: To prepare OLOF School for Accreditation Visit in 2008-2009.

Objectives:

• To complete all recommendations from the 1998 Accreditation Visit in 1998.

Temporal Vitality

GOAL V: Our Lady of Fatima in conjunction with the School Board will work on strengthening all the elements that ensure that the school will remain a viable institution in the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese and the community of Galena Park. These elements include but are not limited to: stable enrollment across all grade levels, a budget that is balanced, a strong academic program, facilities that are welcoming, safe and up-to-date, increased parent participation and adequate funding for all projects.

Objectives:

• To increase enrollment in three to five years to at least ninety percent of the school’s capacity

• To prepare a balanced budget for the school with input from the School Board

• To update and improve all classrooms to accommodate the latest teaching methods

• To develop a Master Plan that would increase classroom space to accommodate an additional number of students

• To implement a plan for adding features to the campus to make sure it is safe and secure from outsiders

• To increase parent/community participation at all grade levels.

• To conduct a Capital Campaign to fund campus renovations.
